Mid-Pacific Expedition, 1950 [motion picture]

This 41 minute silent color film of the 1949-1950 Joint University of California-U.S. Navy Electronics Laboratory-Scripps Institution of Oceanography Mid-Pacific Expedition (MidPac Expedition) was made by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 1950. The film consists of hastily edited and compiled footage filmed aboard R/V Horizon during the course of the expedition. The footage includes images of Roger Revelle and other scientists on deck, deployment and recovery of scientific instruments, and operations at sea.
